Welcome!
My name is Marsha McFalls and I am a 1991 graduate of South Fayette High School. I was a proud member of the Little Green Machine Marching Band as a piccolo player for one year and then as a majorette for four years; head majorette for three of those years. I also had the distinct honor of being the first and only feature twirler, to date, for the Little Green Machine during select shows throughout the season. Being a majorette opened up many opportunities for me. I competed in the sport of baton twirling and trained with my coach at the world-champion Modernettes studio. I founded and twirled with the Duquesne University Twirlettes and performed at halftime at Duquesne Dukes basketball games. I also twirled with the Pride of Duquesne University Marching Band and performed at halftime at Duquesne Dukes football games. I was also a contestant and winner in several scholarship/beauty pageants.
After college, I was the majorette coach for the Duquesne University Marching Band and the Upper St. Clair Marching Band. I started a twirling program at several local dance studios as well as my own business, "One More Time" Baton Twirling Academy, where I continue to offer private baton twirling lessons. I am a certified baton twirling instructor through Twirling Unlimited and the United States Twirling Association (USTA) as a Level 1 Coach. My daughter, Lauren, was head majorette in the Little Green Machine and a University of Pittsburgh Golden Girl. As you can see, twirling for the Little Green Machine included experiences well beyond the football field.
I have been involved in multiple South Fayette Alumni Band performances since I graduated from high school. I have had the opportunity to meet some wonderful ladies. However, I noticed that there is not a permanent record anywhere of all of the majorettes that have had the privilege to perform in front of the band. So... this website is my attempt to accomplish this.
Sincerely and respectfully,
~Marsha
